Logbook: 2025

While 2024 was all about Part 135 flying, 2025 was the year I kicked off my transition to Part 121. Sure I enjoyed the specific planning involved with individual trips or the needs of individual passengers while in the charter world, I also very much appreciated the routine and structure of commercial airline operations.

Below is a recap of 2025 in that respect.

Keep in mind that I’ve been on Reserve since I hit the line and I don’t get called much. And I’m being generous when I say ‘much.’ There are some months where I don’t get called at all, or maybe just once or twice. But that’s most likely going to change very soon. Either way, here are some stats.

Flighty

I use Flighty on every airline flight that I work as well as the ones I’m deadheading on. It’s truly been an indispensable app and has cemented itself on my homescreen. If you fly even just a few times a year, I recommend it.

ForeFlight

ForeFlight is my primary logbook (LogTen Pro is a backup) and the past couple years, ForeFlight has been nice enough to provide a little recap graphic.

While the image is below, you can click the link for a ‘tad’ bit more functionality. Really it just allows you to zoom in the various airports. That’s it.

Are you a pilot? Where did 2025 take you?

Not a pilot? Where did 2025 take you?

I hope you look back on the last year (or two) and see all that you’ve accomplished.

There’s more to come, hang in there.

* Fine print: I’m not sure why the some flight info doesn’t match between Flighty and ForeFlight but trust me, it’s bothering me too. I’m looking into it.
